Minimum Wage Hike Today

The US Department of Labor reminds us that the federal minimum wage hike goes into effect today. It’s $6.55.

This change also effects the threshhold where an employee can be considered exempt from earning overtime in certain jobs.

Employers should contact a qualified attorney or Human Resources Specialist to ensure compliance with the law. Penalties are quite painful.
